About indie e-books

So, what will you find here?

Reviews of (mostly) indie books and short stories.  It’s not so much about the rating but the good and bad aspects – I like to give a balanced review so that you can decide for yourself whether it might be the right book for you.

Musings about the current book market and where it might lead.  The main theme here might be the impact of e-readers but it will also cover topics such as the misuse of social media or re-evaluating genres as a means to group books.

The world of publishing is changing. It’s online, open to more readers and writers than ever before. The Kindle, Ipad, Kobo etc. provide a platform for reading anything, anywhere. You no longer need to carry that *specific book* with you, instead you can carry hundreds. With this comes the indie and/or self-published market: writers choosing to publish without the aid of a well established publishing house.

Are you interested in exploring the diverse selection that this group offers? http://indieebooks.co.uk is aimed at providing a common platform for indie writers and publishers to show-case their work. The content is kept limited to one (free) short story per author to give the reader an idea of the writing style and talent involved and to help forward them on to more substantial work.

With a longstanding passion for books ranging from the classics to fantasy and scifi I was frustrated at the lack of enthusiasm that many publishing houses initially showed for the e-book market. In the last couple of years however, this appears to be changing and the e-book market, as a result, is experiencing significant growth.

My name is Tom Abrahams and I saw your post on WLC.

I’ve just published a political thriller called SEDITION and I’d love to write a guest post or be interviewed for your blog.

You can read a lot more about the book (and me) at http://seditionbook.com You’ll notice that there is a lot of supplemental information there meant to enhance the reading experience.

Please let me know if you’re interested.

    Thanks for your consideration!
